Recording Your Voice: Minimal Gear, Maximum Quality

Recording voice is fun and generally, it is a very good decision to have fun!

Here I have tried to explain about recording vocals (for voice over Or Singing on a Karaoke) and the basic equipment and software needed.

1. First and foremost, Buy a good microphone, preferably for home recording use Dynamic type microphone.  (Condenser type is highly sensitive and demands good sound isolation).

My suggestions here.

Optional but recommended: Vocal guard, to take care of unnecessary reflections from the walls and sides of the recording room

And to avoid bursts of sound getting recorded when you pronounce words starting from P or B and or any such stressed beginnings, One must use a Pop filter

2.  Install Recording software, I suggest trying out, ‘Audacity’ a free and popular audio software. (Mac, Linux and Windows versions available)

3.  If you require professional quality output, I suggest buying a sound-card and choose XLR type microphones, which are the best in the business.  Here are a few suggestions.

4. The recording job is complete in the previous pointer, This is for all audio processing enthusiasts! What is more interesting is treating the sound we have recorded, It is a skill to be picked over time by purely trying out various possibilities in sound and training our ears. A lot can be tweaked at the time of Mixing and Mastering and also while Recording. Sounds interesting? Drop a message below for a practical session.

Happy Recording…
